The Larkfield Community Group was formed in 2017 with the intention of uniting Larkfield residents and bringing a feeling of community spirit to the area
Run by a committee, we are the group that organise the Christmas lights ceremony in Martin Square and the Picnic On The Rec summer fair, events you have possibly attended over the years.
In addition to these annual events, the group are active throughout the year arranging quizzes, parties, coach trips, and other social events that are open to all Larkfield residents. Our weekly groups, aim to bring people together to enjoy social activities and are very popular, especially our bi-weekly coffee mornings at Lawson House.
Another way in which we aim to increase social interaction and reduce loneliness is through out befriending service, or Buddy Scheme. This was launched in 2019 to alleviate the feeling of social seclusion and isolation faced by many older Larkfield residents. Volunteers visit the elderly and vulnerable in our area and keep them company for an hour or so, enjoying a chat and a cup of tea. Volunteers are always needed, so please do take a few minutes to read about our befriending service, which you will find under the Buddy Scheme heading.
Finally, you may have seen, or even be a member of the Larkfield Community Group Facebook page. This was set up to let the people of Larkfield know what events, activities etc the group were doing however, it has become so much more, and it’s nice to know that it has developed into a useful information point for Larkfield and surrounding villages.
We hope you will find this website useful and learn out what we have done in past years, and what we have planned for the future.
