The L.C.G Buddy Scheme has been set up by the Larkfield Community Group, to tackle the problem of social seclusion and isolation It is a free service whereby a volunteer Buddy will visit a lonely person for an hour or so a week to talk, listen, have a cup of tea, and we hope, become a friend Our Buddies are not carers or able to do any chores, they are there as a visitor, and to keep them company for a while All our Buddies are DBS checked & trained in the regulations & procedures of the Scheme. They will carry photo I.D so the person will know who they are when they call. We also expect our volunteers to have had both Covid vaccinations We know that loneliness can affect any age group, so this service is open to all adults We are looking for caring, compassionate people to volunteer as Buddies, so if you think that you are the sort of person we are looking for, then please get in touch by either email; larkfieldcommunitygroup@gmail.com Or ring 07563 196479 It is proven that having a Buddy helps people feel less isolated and makes a positive difference to their lives.
